Project Description:
Roxanne Ducharme, also known as TrashCanRoxanne, is an award-winning filmmaker, illustrator, and animator with 40 years of experience in traditional 2D animation across film, television, games, and advertising. Her credits include major studio features, Oscar and BAFTA-nominated projects, Emmy®-winning television, and illustration work for National Geographic, Discovery Channel, and the Science Channel.
Since moving fully into AI filmmaking in early 2023, her films have screened and won awards at festivals worldwide.
Her work has appeared in Times Square and in exhibitions in Spain and Brazil. In 2026, she was named one of Leonardo.Ai’s Top 50 Women AI Filmmakers, a list featured in Forbes Australia.

Adrift in the cold depths, a creature named Wynn discovers a jar filled with visions from above the water. Through these borrowed memories, he begins to craft his own, transforming darkness into light and finding a place to belong.

THE SEA THAT DREAMED is a poetic journey through memory, belonging, and the quiet hope that lingers beneath the waves. A surreal meditation on what remains when everything else slips away, the film reflects on how, even in moments of confusion or solitude, small things can guide us home.
